Cape Coral
Cape Coral, the largest canel city in the world, is a very pretty city located in sunny, southwest Florida on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River and provides a annual average temperature of 80 degrees with endless sunshine.

Just west of Fort Myers, Cape Coral has hundreds of miles of gorgeous deep-blue canals flowing into the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of the largest waterfront communities, as well as one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Florida. The popular shelling beaches of Captiva and Sanibel Islands are just minutes away, and several local and state parks offer fishing, boating, swimming and snorkeling and all the popular and fun watersports.

Boats are available to rent and charter and there are many trips available out to sea for fishing or just relaxing.

Golfers will find a course to challenge every skill level either at one of Cape Coral's four 18 hole championship golf courses or at one of its more relaxed "executive" courses.

Numerous tennis courts and cycleways provide fine facilities throughout the city for a range of options for an invigorating day on or off the court.

Known as an ideal location for family fun, Cape Coral offers a 12 acre family waterpark, a family sports amusement center and a children's science center Four Freedom Parks and a Four Mile Ecopark. Several special events are held here throughout the year, including the annual Festival of the Arts, usually held in January, plus an Oktoberfest in the fall.

Cape Coral's harbour and waterfront provides a magnet for prestigious yachting+marinas.

While the downtown development provides a variety of unique specialty shops to well-known national favorites with dining at fabulous restaurants that specialize in ethnic foods, all in an elegant but friendly atmosphere.

The beautiful beaches of Fort Myers are just minutes away, and the Florida Everglades is approximately an hour's drive from Cape Coral. One very unique aspect of the city is that it has one of the largest Burrowing Owl populations in the country. During nesting season you will see these little owls sitting on perches along the city streets.

Whatever you want from your holiday you'll find that this growing community maintains a friendly, small-town atmosphere which invites you to discover a wealth of activities and attractions.

Weather & Climate
Southwest Florida weather is one of the area's biggest assets. The region surrounding Fort Myers and Captiva/Sanibel Island is balmy in April and May, hot and humid (but bearable) June through September, and mild and sunny the rest of the year. The rainy season is June through September, with lots of showers and thunderstorms. The number of days without rain in the summer averages about 15. Late summer is hurricane season in the Gulf of Mexico. The winter months, when it is drier with less humidity and almost perfect temperatures, is a great time to enjoy southwest Florida's weather. The white sand beaches of the Gulf and the nearby Caloosahatchee River provide visitors and residents plenty of scenic opportunities to enjoy this wonderful weather, also.
